AGO Workshops
at
Broad Street United Methodist Church
The first workshop session will be a class in improvisation presented by Robert Wisniewski (principal organist at St. Joseph Cathedral, Columbus) and Charles Yanerella (President of Graves Piano and Organ Company). This class will be geared toward a variety of skill levels.
The second session will be an overview of vocal repertoire for the church soloist, with examples sung by Al and Cynthia Adcock and Katie O'Keefe, accompanied by Brian Johnson. This workshop will incoude a list of seasonal and general repertoire for the church soloist, and you are encouraged to bring solo singers from your church.
These American Guild of Organists workshops will begin with breakfast snacks, coffee, and juice at 8:30am.

A concert to dedicate the church's new Bunn=Minnick 3-manual/ 42-rank pipe organ will take place Saturday, May 6th, featuring organist Jonathan Ryan.
Mr. Ryan is the winner of the First Prize and LeTourneau Prize in the 2009 Jordan II International Organ Competition, and has appeared in recitals at major venues in the U. S. and France.

Two events
On Thursday evening, December 4, the annual Sights and Sounds of Newark walking tour of the downtown churches begins at Second Presbyterian at 6:00 pm. This event benefits the Licking County Food Pantry Network.
The following Sunday, December 7, Mike Blowers and Rick Black will present a Christmas Concert of Piano and Organ Duets at 3:00pm in the sancuary of Second Presbyterian Church. The program is sponsored by the Mason/Earhart Music Endowment, and there is no charge for admission. A freewill offering will be taken during the concert to help defray expenses, and a reception will follow in the church dining room.

Handbells Columbus will present a concert of classical, sacred and secular music at First Moravian Church of Dover. This outstanding community handbell choir is from the Columbus, Ohio area and is comprised of auditioned and invited ringers who play with enthusiasm and sensitivity on a six-octave set of Malmark Handbells and five octaves of Malmark Handchimes.
