Organ Recital
Wayne Whitten
Wayne Whitten, Organist and Director of the Chancel Choir at the
First Presbyterian Church of Maumee, will present an organ recital
on Sunday, April 27 at 7:00 p.m. on the three manual, thirty-four
rank Bunn-Minnick pipe organ in the church sanctuary.
The program will consist of music by German, French, English,
and American composers representing the baroque, romantic, and contemporary
periods. Highlighting the program will be the Trio Sonata in
G Major by J. S. Bach; the Allegro moderato movement
from Charles-Marie Widor's Symphonie Romane; The Ninety-Fourth
Psalm, an extended work in four movements by Julius Reubke;
and Louis Vierne's Carillon de Westminster. Works by Nicholas
Bruhns, Vincent Persichetti, and Simon Preston will also be performed.
